This year the Riga International Film Festival will take place SEPTEMBER 7 – 17. In the span of 10 days the festival will feature 8 film programmes alongside an industry section with educational and networking events, as well as public discussions and panels. Every year, films from the Baltic Sea region are entered into the RIGA IFF feature film competition – not only narrative film but also documentaries, animation or any other feature-length cinematic works which fall in between genres, of which the festival curators select those that would be viewed by the festival’s international jury. This year in the competition programme, Krista Burāne’s feature length documentary THE FAIRYTALE OF EMPTY SPACE will also have it’s world premiere. All of the screenings within the ARTDOCFEST/RIGA programme are now confirmed and we have made the tickets available! This is raw world documentary film mostly in Russian language, mostly made outside of Russia. Programme opening title – THE MAN WHO WAS TOO FREE. At the RIGA IFF OPENING EVENT on September 8 a joint film/music project between the Los Angeles Echo Park Film Center and the art and culture website Arterritory.com will premiere in the Splendid Palace Large Hall that involves 24 artists, writers, photographers, musicians from Riga that together will create a dynamic image of the city. >>> MORE INFO AND TICKETS
