We are searching for art in cinema and a different way to experience film. We value communication and the meeting of the authors and their audience. We see short film and it’s subspecies as the living and breathing form of all of what’s new and courageous about the contemporary art of cinema. So this must be a call for you, right?”
Searching for a fresh approach to cinema, daring artistic choices, setting new trends, experiments and the expansion of horizons in genre, style and means of creating a short film. Welcoming submissions from all over the world to be vetted by SHORT RIGA curators and an international jury.
Here’s to new film talent in the Baltic countries – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Participants not only compete, they embark on a journey of in-depth analysis of their work and get not only the glory of being part of the Riga IFF – film students are able gain hands-on constructive feedback from film professionals on an international level.
The music video, much like the short film, is a playground for experimentation in form, structure and style. This competition is aimed at exploring advancements of artistic expression in moving picture set to moving music (or vice versa?).
